First Annual Go Orange Urban Adventure Scavenger Hunt
Thanks to everyone who joined us in Bryant Park Sunday, September 28th for a scavenger hunt, fun and informative action stations, and prizes!
Food Bank brought its first ever Urban Adventure Scavenger Hunt to Bryant Park, with the help of Go Orange sponsor Bank of America, whose Tower at One Bryant Park "went Orange." The City of New York presented Food Bank with a proclamation from Mayor de Blasio in recognition of Go Orange to End Hunger™. New York City’s Food Policy Director Barbara Turk was on hand to present the Mayoral Proclamation declaring September 28 as Go Orange to End Hunger™ Day.
Celebrity chefs Franklin Becker and Madison Cowan were also on site to demonstrate recipes that are healthy, easy and budget-friendly. And Food Bank’s “Change One Thing” teen ambassadors spread the message that for better health, New Yorkers don’t have to change their lives – they just have to “Change One Thing.”
Did you know that every $1 donated to Food Bank helps provide five meals to New Yorkers in need? This year, our restaurant partners took the Meals For Meals pledge. Throughout the month of September, each time select items were sold, one meal ($0.20) was donated to Food Bank For New York City.
Thanks to all our participating restaurants!
